Enjoy a relaxing day trip to the seaside city of Mandurah.
Start your journey from the city, heading south on the Kwinana Freeway. Take the exit at Mandjoogoordap Drive, and then turn right onto Pinjarra Road to the Mandurah Foreshore.
Have lunch at one of the many cafés on the foreshore, or join a cruise through the canals viewing the million dollar homes - you may even spot some dolphins! Or if you're around from November to April, you can try your hand at catching some of Mandurah's famous crabs in the shallow waters of the Peel Inlet.
Chill out in a coffee shop or enjoy fish and chips at the Dolphin Quay Marina, and check out an exhibit at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre. For something a little different why not hire an eco BBQ boat!
Jump back in the car and head further south along Old Coast Road, travelling past the Peel Inlet and Harvey Estuary, until you come to the Yalgorup National Park. This park is home to 11 coastal lakes and wetlands, hundreds of migrating birds, rare Tuart Trees and the most fascinating of them all – the Thrombolite living fossils – some of the first living formations on Earth!
After all your exploring you can either travel back to Perth along the Forrest Highway, or head back to Mandurah and stay the night in a resort overlooking the ocean or canals. You'll find plenty of options for dinner and can then enjoy a relaxing trip back to Perth the following morning.
