Highly regarded worldwide and one of Western Australia's iconic events, the Rottnest Channel Swim is a 19.7km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island.
Whether competing as a solo, duo or team, the Rottnest Channel Swim is a ‘team’ event with all swimmers surrounded by a support network of paddlers, boat skippers and crew.
Come and experience the trepidation of the start at Cottesloe Beach! The first wave leaves at 5.45am, with the last wave leaving at 7.40am – so it’s important to make sure you get down early. Parking around the beach is limited, so make sure you plan accordingly to avoid last minute hassle.
The first swimmers will arrive at Rottnest Island at around 10am, so it's a good idea to be at the island at 9.30am. Ferries fill up quickly, so make sure you make a booking early so you don't miss out. There'll be sponsor activities happening all day, so you can make a day of it after the final waves of swimmers come in. The event will finish at 5pm. There'll be plenty of entertainment and activities for the whole family before, during and after the swimmers arrive on the Island.
