Neon Picnic, the pre-cursor to RTRFM's much loved In The Pines music festival is now an annual family friendly get together during a lovely summers day at the Hyde Park Amplitheatre.
Neon Picnic brings the radio to you live on Saturday March 21st in the amazing surrounds of the Hyde Park Amplitheatre between 11am – 5pm.
Spend the day with the us and our line up of Saturday shows; Global Rhythm Pot, Homegrown, and Drastic on Plastic, plus special musical guests.
Come and bask in the musical majesty at this all-day event, as we chill out on the grass of Perth’s most beloved park. Bring the kids for some special arts and crafts activities from the team at Spaced Out, including their massive Cardboard City. We will also have a special Neon Picnic Drag Story Times with Cougar Morrison, bring the kids and the adults to hear a story.
Plus, the Mums and Dads can relax in our licensed bar thanks to Alby Beer and Olive Grove Wines or grab a bite from Twin Beaks Burgers and Curb Your Hunger, or grab a coffee and ice-cream from Better Beans Coffee and Kuld Creamery. Plus, some of your favourite RTRFM presenters will bake up a treat for the first annual RTRFM Bake Sale.
This year we also team up with Go2Cup to make sure that plastic waste across the day is minimal. All plastic cups will be re-useable and we ask you to place them in special bins to be collected and re-used.
Entry is free and you are welcome to come and go as you like. Pull up a slice of grass, bring a picnic, bring your dog and enjoy local music and Perth’s best radio station live.
Catch amazing live sets from loop specialist and violinist Rupert Gunther, punk rock vibes of Rinehearts and a very special Wanjoo To Country from Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse. Stay with us into the afternoon with the jazz styles of The Gemma Farrell Quintet, solo styles of Lucy Peach and the intense magic of The Tommyhawks.
Neon Picnic is a free, family-friendly event, with activities for children all day long, and a licensed bar will be on site.
Neon Picnic couldn’t happen without the generous support of: City of Vincent, Gage Roads, Olive Grove Wines, Spaced Out, CCA Productions and Paramount Security. All proceeds go to RTRFM.
