Head down to South Beach, Fremantle on Saturday, 12 December 2020 for the most popular swim on the open water calendar.
The Fremantle Ports Swim Thru is a swim for everyone with three distances to choose from and a whole heap of prizes up for grabs!
A separate short course close to shore with dedicated paddlers and chaperones
One lap of the course for confident open water swimmers with multiple waves to suit swimmers of different paces
Two laps of the course for more confident open water swimmers who would like the challenge of a longer distance or as training swim for longer swims such as Busselton Jetty Swim.
The Fremantle Ports Swim Thru was first held in 1922 and was the first ocean-water swimming race in Western Australia. It is believed to have been the longest ocean swimming race in Australia at the time and was given the nickname "The Big Swim". The original swim started at the Fish Market Jetty and finished at South Beach Jetty (now demolished).
If you are looking for a fitness challenge that comes with a stunning Fremantle outlook and fabulous coffee and brunch options for afterwards, the Fremantle Ports Swim Thru is coming up on Saturday 12 December with distances to suit all ages and abilities.
