Adventure seekers and families are spoilt for choice in the Murray River region.
The Murray area stretches from the canal and riverside suburbs of North and South Yunderup, Ravenswood and Dwellingup to the beautiful Darling Scarp, with historic Pinjarra at its heart.
The area offers a range of natural attractions, heritage sites and plenty of adventure activities including skydiving, canoeing, white-water rafting and mountain-biking. There's the opportunity for some relaxation on a house boat on the tranquil Murray River and the area is popular for camping. Other activities include hiking, cycling or horseriding along the area’s many trails.
Stretching from the coast to the Darling Range, the Shire of Murray includes a pristine coastline and the Yalgorup National Park. Containing 11 coastal lakes and wetlands, the park is home to hundreds of migrating birds and also contains Lake Clifton, the largest Thrombolite reef in the Southern Hemisphere.
Travel inland to find fertile farmlands, peaceful Jarrah forests and the character township of Waroona which has an interesting history and is well known for the Waroona Dam and Lake Navarino where thrill seekers come from far and wide to waterski, canoe and fish.
