History with a couple of beers! As a sailor arriving in Freo through the years, what was life like? Pioneering settlers, Dutch explorers, whalers, migrants, convicts, naval seamen, gold seekers upon arrival in the port over the years. This tour captures their stories and the challanges they faced.
12.30 pm Saturday and Sunday
This tour explores the wonderful "West End" of Fremantle that was where countless people have jumped off ships through the years. En route, enjoy a couple of quiet beers or wines (included) while visiting some of Fremantle’s working mans clubs including the Buffalo Club and the Navy Club. The tour begins at the Roundhouse, WA’s oldest building, concluding at the Ball & Chain Bar where light snacks will be provided.
"Freo" is the birthplace of the "Swan River Colony" and home some of the most amazing stories from colonial times in Australia. Explore Fremantle with a local and hear the stories of astounding Irish prisoner escapes, comical British bushrangers, the shameful expulsion of aboriginals to Rottnest Island and its importance as a port during World War II.
Visit all the landmarks including the Fremantle Prison and Fishing Boat Harbour. View contemporary art at Moore & Moore Gallery and the Kidogo Art House concluding your tour at the oldest building in Western Australia, The Roundhouse.

Discover and taste the small and intimate venues in the city created a new nightlife and cultural scene. Over the course of the evening, in a small group, you will visit 3 different small bars, spending about 45 mins in each venue. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with some grazing food or a drink, depending on the venues you visit.
During the time between venues, you will be guided through sections of the city and discover other venues, thriving street art, intriguing spaces and develop an understanding of what has transformed a city centre.
Start your day in Perth with a morning tea tour. Enjoy a coffee (or tea), with a dash of history, culture and arts. Includes chocolate tastings. (food can be purchased during the tour).

Explore the Heritage Precinct of Perth, the old theatre district as well as former educational precincts. Enjoy a coffee/tea at popular local cafe (included) and enjoy a wonderfully re-purposed heritage space in a forgotten area. Visit secret gardens, discover hidden art and visit a fine art gallery while learning some of the more interesting anecdotes about the city.
At the conclusion of the tour your friendly guide will then escort you to one of the most significant and newly refurbished buildings in Perth, the State Buildings. Formerly home to the General Post Office, Land Titles Office, Treasury and Parliament.
Did you know Perth has its own unique network of arcades and laneways? Due to the warm Perth environment, the city centre was built with many arcades to keep out the heat. In more recent times, these have included many underneath the city in air-conditioned comfort.

Through churches, shopping malls and public areas, these arcades (and laneways) form a pivotal part of life in an inherently warm environment. Art Deco, ultra modern and even faux-Tudor, these are wonderful parts of the city to be guided through and hear of their origins and impact on the city as a destination.
In recent years, some forgotten and under utilised back laneways in and around town have been brought back to life by encouraging new business, street art and interesting lighting. It is very easy to spend a couple of leisurely hours exploring these hidden yet bustling/vibrant elements of life in Perth.
Fremantle is a foodie's delight full of funky restaurants, historic pubs, cool cafes and the old world charm of a colonial port. This tour is designed to let you learn the neighbourhood's legendary stories while you dine, drink, and experience the weekend markets, the high streets and the narrow lanes of the "West End" with an expert local guide.
Taste local delicacies in the markets, which are loaded with artisan foods, fruit, vegetables and tasty ethnic flavours. Relax as we also eat and drink at a number of the very authentic bars and restaurants in the historic port end of town.
Tours operate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 2pm to 5pm. Cost includes three drinks and lots of food. Private tours are available by request.
