Talkabout Tours is a Western Australian owned and run tour business that was hit hard by COVID-19.
The well-established business has spent two decades spruiking Perth to international students, finding local homestays and showing them the best, this town has to offer. But what to do when the planes stop flying?
Having just purchased a brand-new tour bus and with decades of local knowledge and an award-winning comedian on staff, there was only one option… To create a brand-new type of local tourism to show Perthites the hidden gems in their own backyard.
The business has now rebranded as Talkabout Tours – Show on the Road.
The Tours include:
- Billionaires Club – An irreverent look at who owns what in the western suburbs.
- The Bicton You Didn’t Know – Amazing story with Aboriginal heritage and early settlement.
- Magical North Fremantle- The natural landscapes are phenomenal; the ancient pathways are readily visible and the tour in general promotes a feeling of historical pride and gratitude.
- The Classic Beer Tour- Need we say more?
- Monks to Millbrook – A visit to The Buddhist Monastery in Jarrahdale, and Millbrook Winery.
- The Spirit of the Valley- Includes history, a bubbly brunch and plenty of spirit sips.
The Billionaires Club is the most popular tour so far and is a hilarious look at the rich and infamous of Perth’s most affluent suburbs. Led by comedian Damien O’Doherty the show comes with a warning: Talkabout Tours is not liable if you laugh so hard your champagne comes out of your nose. You’ll meet characters including Margaret Court-Crabz and Dalkeith’s biggest rate-payer – Sheena Rinehart.
Show on the Road is continuing to engage with local artists, businesses, and historians to develop more tours. Talkabout are committed to eco-tourism and sustainability and they support WA with their choice of champers (sparkling white) and beers!
Let us get the show on the road!
The “Billionaire Club” experience does get the “Show on the road”. Damien O'Doherty past winner of the Perth Comedy Fringe Festival adopts different identities as she delights, informs, and entertains. An irreverent look at who owns what in the western suburbs.
Bicton's bygone days will surprise and enthral. It is blessed with a colourful and rich heritage, amazing scenery, and landscapes, (such as Blackwall Reach and Point Walter) ancient stories, and a bucket full of interesting characters. Can you guess why Talkabout provide each guest popcorn and a raw potato?
Those who enjoy a good walk can pop on their walking shoes and wander around North Fremantle, soaking up the rich cultural heritage of the area. This magical tour weaves you through its ancient, colonial, and modern history. Feel the joy as you wander through stunningly captivating scenery. Lucky Perthites!
In this ‘Classic’ full day tour, visit the picturesque Swan Valley, now leading the country as a top-notch craft brewing region. Taking in 5 breweries, you will sample anything up to 20 different craft beers and spend the day immersed in all things beer (not literally!) Includes Lunch …and more!
Monks to Millbrook Tour showcases Perth’s gastronomical feats and world-class wine. It is indulgent, removes you from the mainstream and has a rags to riches storyline. This tour is only available if Millbrook Winery has a vacancy. Includes entry fees, snacks, lunch, wine-tasting and wines or beer during lunch.
This 5-star tour, with a 13 passenger limit, is the ultimate day in the Swan Valley. All five venues visited are multi-award winning with reserved areas set aside exclusively for our group.

This is followed by a highly fun and entertaining talk and tastings of local gins and vodkas. Next comes a visit to John Septimus Roe's home on the Swan River and a tour of the art gallery within, while our "Flight Deck" wine and food matchings are prepared at another multi-award-winning winery. We then move on to a famous French patisserie for dessert and coffee. Our day finishes with a spirit tasting and cocktail of your choice at yet another award-winning venue.
