Just one hour from Perth, the rural and historic Chittering Shire is home to the township of Bindoon and several smaller communities.
This emerging region, with its temperate Mediterranean climate and rich soils produce citrus fruits, olives, amongst other produce from smaller scale farms. Small family owned vineyards, which include the varieties of Verdelho, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz are produced for cellar doors throughout the district.
For several months of the year the aroma of orange blossom is the backdrop of the town of Bindoon and mandarins, oranges and lemons are sold from roadside stalls. At other times of the year avocados, mangoes and pumpkins are available, freshly picked by the farmer.
Take beautiful drive around the district from Bullsbrook onto the Chittering Valley Tourist Drive. Attractions include the hugely popular bakery and Brockman Centre Arts and Craft centre.
