The Michael brothers launched a cold pressed juice company; Michael Brothers Traditionally Pressed Juice back in 2012 from their family farm in Toodyay. These cold pressed and unpasteurised juices inspired them to create a healthy alcoholic offshoot – the Funk Cider House!
Funk Cider opened its doors in 2016, releasing 12 unique, seasonal and ever rotating craft ciders on tap! The innovative duo broke the norm by brewing ciders that are made from fresh pressed whole fruits (no concentrates), are not pasteurised and do NOT contain any sugars, water, preservatives or sulphites! This makes our ciders incredibly a LIVING product - one of few in the world!
These mouth-watering craft ciders are brewed by using REAL and locally sourced WA produce and are of course Buy West Eat Best certified! We give our ciders that groovy FUNK hit by using special fermenting techniques such as infusing REAL exotic fruits (passionfruit, pineapple, mango - just to name some) also wild fermenting and barrel aging ciders to create a finished product so complex and flavoursome that it will knock your socks off! If that’s not amazing enough, most of our ciders are unfiltered - leaving even more flavour and goodness!
Funk’s kitchen is run by the amazing Urban Food Mafia team who open the doors for breakfast from 8am and with the Funk taps pouring from 10am to 5.30pm and Saturday night live music performances open later until 10pm.

Our amazing historic grounds at the Valencia Complex used to house the iconic Valencia Wines (at one time the largest winery in the Swan Valley). The grounds now house the amazing Funk Cider, Old Fig Tree Restaurant, Ironbark brewery and a handful of other gourmet food businesses.
