Craft beer fans need look no further than the Perth region for plenty of boutique breweries and small bars pushing their favourite flavours.
This is our round-up of some of the best breweries in Perth, Fremantle and the Swan Valley.
Boutique breweries are springing up in the Swan Valley, adding value to the region’s national reputation for world class wine and gourmet produce. They happen to be among the best food places in Perth too!
Feral Brewing Company
The award-winning Feral Brewing Company is right up there among the best breweries in Perth, producing a fascinating range of hand-crafted beers.
You’re sure to find like-minded enthusiasts here, tasting the 16 beers on tap, which are regularly changed for a new experience each time. Flavours can be quite unusual, as the brewers like to experiment with hops, fruits and spices.
Stop long enough to sample their delicious menu in the beer garden overlooking valley vineyards.
Elmar’s in the Valley
Elmar's in the Valley is known for being among the best food places in Perth, and with German owners, it’s hardly surprising that this is a must for your list of breweries too.
Elmar’s claims the largest glass micro-brewery kettle in the southern hemisphere, which will no doubt be an attraction to serious enthusiasts. Most importantly, the range of traditional, award winning beers are created with the knowledge of centuries, matched with an equal passion for fine foods, including Dutch cheeses and Belgian chocolates.
Stay for lunch for the unique experience of a German restaurant in a quintessentially Western Australian setting!
Mandoon Estate Homestead Brewery
On your search for the best food places in Perth, you’ve probably come across Mandoon Estate, widely known for its winery and stunning setting on the banks of the Swan River.
The Estate is also popular for its Homestead Brewery, producing craft beers that make a perfect match with the hearty, satisfying meals served in the brewery or out on the deck overlooking the vines.
Mandoon Estate has stunning accommodation too, so why not make a weekend of it and enjoy your beer and wine without needing a designated driver.
Mash Brewing deliberately shuns trends and simply creates great craft beers without taking itself too seriously. This approach has clearly worked well, with the brewery rising to join the ranks of the best breweries in Perth, and winning multiple awards.
The brew house is literally surrounded by a brasserie style restaurant.
