On the first day of Advent, Saturday 1 December, Santa arrives in Perth for a Christmas event that every kid looks forward to - the Christmas Pageant.
Crowds will line St Georges Terrace to watch a colourful parade of magical floats, live music and dancing, the highlight being Santa with his reindeer. There will be plenty of refreshments around to keep the whole family energised. Arrive well ahead of the 7.30pm start to get a good view.

From 4.00pm on Sunday 9 December, the fun will start in Claremont Park for the annual Christmas Carols family friendly celebration. Bring the kids down for some fun on the merry-go-round, bouncy castle and camel rides, and get them stuck into gingerbread and umbrella decorating.
At 7.00pm the music strikes up with Christmas favourites from Perth Symphony Orchestra. There will be food on sale, so bring a picnic rug to settle in and enjoy the carols.
The West Australian Symphony Orchestra, WASO Chorus and Variety Choir will lead the Christmas carols in Christmas Symphony at Langley Park on Saturday 15 December. Sunday 16 December is the date for Christmas carols at sunset south of the river, in Neil McDougall Park, Como.
This is a simple community event in a lovely park, ideal for some relaxing family time. Carols start up at 6.30pm, accompanied by the South Perth Lions Club Senior and Youth Bands.
From Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 December, the story of the Nativity will be re-enacted with more than 100 performers, live animals and Christmas carols in Perth's Supreme Court Gardens. The grounds are open from 4.00pm for picnics, and the entertainment begins at 6.00pm.
As the sun goes down on Sunday 23 December, enjoy the chilled vibe of the Sunset@Subi Christmas concert in the Theatre Gardens, Subiaco. A Cappella West female vocal harmony chorus and The Milford Street Shakers soul band will perform popular Christmas songs and carols between 5.00 and 7.00pm.
