Whale watching adventures

Experience the largest whale migration in the Southern Hemisphere - 35,000 whales, right on our doorstep, only 20 minutes off Perth's coast.

The Humpback Highway, off the coast of WA, is part of an ancient system of ocean paths that circle the planet, vastly pre-dating any road travelled by man. In April, the humpbacks leave rich feeding grounds in Antarctica to raise their young in warmer waters, off the Kimberley. This lane of the highway is far off-shore from Perth.

The return trip in September through to December brings the whales and their newborns much closer to Perth's coast - the perfect time to seek an encounter. From September - November, Rottnest Express and Rottnest Fast Ferries, Mills Charters and Westcoast Jet offer whale watching tours to see these magnificent creatures.
