Walking trails in the Swan Valley
Guildford, just 30 minutes drive from Perth, is the gateway to the Swan Valley.
Guildford's Heritage Walk Trails
Established on what is virtually an island encircled by the Swan and Helena Rivers, Guildford is ideally suited to explore on foot. Guildford has three walks which allow you to discover the numerous fascinating historic buildings, lively characters and wonderful stories of this 'island village'.
The three heritage walks with 35 interpretive panels are:
- The Town Walk: 1800 metres, 40-60 minutes (red markers)
- The River Ramble: 1500 metres, 30 - 50 minutes (blue markers)
- The Stirling Square Circuit: 450 metres, 20 minutes (black markers)
Each trail starts and finishes at the Old Guildford Courthouse (Visitor Centre). Call in to gather more information and maps on the walks.
Noble Falls Walk Trail
This lovely walk along the Wooroloo Brook is attractive at all times of the year. The wildflowers are in bloom in the spring and the waterfall is stunning in winter. The walk adjoins a reserve, which is home to many birds and other wildlife. It begins from Noble Falls picnic and parking area off Toodyay Road.

Description:
- Lovely walk along Wooroloo Brook with seasonal wildflowers and a stunning winter waterfall.
- On site information includes trailhead signs and directional signage.
- Take caution on the gravel sections as they can be slippery.
- You will find picnic tables, toilets and BBQ facilities at the falls.

Bells Rapid Walk Trail
This scenic walk along the Swan River, home of the famous Avon Descent, is noted for being one of the best vantage points for the event with its majestic boulders and rushing waters in the winter.
Bells Rapid is also the habitat of the beautiful grey kangaroo which can be seen at certain times of the year in abundance. You will enjoy scenic views of countryside and coastal plains on this unique circuit walk trail.

- This walk is mostly flat but has some steep inclines and loose gravel sections.
- This scenic walk is renowned for having some of the best vantage points for watching the famous Avon Descent.
- Onsite signage is provided for directions and trailheads.
- BBQ and toilet facilities available.

Wandoo Heights Walking Trail
Wandoo Heights is a special bushland setting that has remained unspoilt over the years. To protect its environment this area has restricted access to nature trails. This beautiful wildflower walk has a diverse collection of wildflowers and native plants. This unique walk provides an opportunity to view the panorama of the Swan Coastal Plain and to appreciate the unspoiled beauty of our natural bushland.

Distance: 2 kilometres or 30-45 minutes (Short Walk); 3.5 kilometres or 45 minutes-1 hour (Long Walk). |

Description:
- This beautiful walk has an amazing selection of wildflowers and native plants.
- View the panorama of the Swan Coastal Plain.
- This is a dieback controlled area and boots must be scrubbed in a container provided.
- Caution some sections slippery when wet.
- There is onsite signage for directions and also interpretive flora maps.
- It is asked that you keep to the paths and only take photographs of the flora and fauna.

Syd's Rapids Trail

Description:
- This walk is a nice easy stroll along the floodplains of the Swan River including Syd’s Rapids.
- Onsite information includes interpretive panels and information shelters.
- This trail can be connected to the Echidna Trail if you would like a longer walk.
- There is an entry fee to Walyunga National Park for vehicles.

Kangaroo Trail (Loop)

Distance: 4 kilometres or 2 hours. |

Description:
- There is such a wide variety of vegetation types on this trail.
- The main attractions include granite outcrops, grass trees and sometimes in spring it’s possible to see orchids besides the tracks.
- Onsite information includes yellow kangaroo markers and information panels.
- There is an entry fee for vehicles entering the National Park.

Kingfisher Trail

- View a variety of vegetation types and wildlife such as woodborers, ant nests and Wandoo Trees.

- There is an entry fee for vehicles entering the National Park.

Aboriginal Heritage Trail

- This trail is easy and gentle with beautiful flora and fauna to see along the way.
