Fremantle Town Hall Tours
The Fremantle Town Hall was officially opened on 22 June 1887 to coincide with Queen Victoria's golden Jubilee. Take a tour of the Town Hall and find out about its fascinating history, architecture and the resident ghost! All guides are volunteers from the Fremantle community with a knowledge of local history and events. The duration of the tour is one hour, with a maximum of 15 persons.
Historic Walking Tours
A joint venture between Fremantle Historic Walking Tours and the WA Maritime Museum to offer locals and visitors the opportunity to learn more about the history, heritage, culture and art of the city. The walk takes about one and a half hours and begins outside the Maritime Museum, goes via Anchor Way, Bathers Beach, the historic maritime precinct, and then returns to the Maritime Museum via Cliff Street.
Fremantle Aboriginal Heritage Walking Tour
Discover the other side of Fremantle's Heritage, both before and after European settlement,through the eyes of your Aboriginal (Nyoongar) guide. Hear the Aboriginal story of one of Fremantle's major landmarks, The Round House. Learn its impact on the local Nyoongar people and its connection with Rottnest Island. Learn how the Swan River is part of the Dreaming trail of the area. Follow the story of Yagan, a respected Aboriginal warrior, who was the first to rebel against the European settlers.
