Lotterywest Australia Day Skyworks
Taking place each Australia Day, January 26, The Lotterywest Australia Day Skyworks is Australia's largest community celebration.
Events including free concerts, activities and air and water shows take place throughout Australia Day around the Swan River and City of Perth. Hundreds of thousands of people gather around the foreshore in the evening to watch the spectacular fireworks display celebrating Australia's national day.
Perth International Arts Festival
The Perth International Arts Festival is Australia's oldest and largest multi-arts festival. It has an enviable worldwide reputation in the arts for its innovative development and presentation of new works.
Festival events take place in and around the city, as well as throughout the state. They attract around 500,000 people over the Festival's three week duration.

City of Perth Winter Arts Season
The City of Perth Winter Arts Season offers a rich tapestry of arts events designed to keep the chill of winter at bay. For three months Perth's pre-eminent arts organisations and venues work together to produce a stunning program of theatre, music and visual arts.
Northbridge Superscreen
As part of ongoing enhancements to Northbridge, the City of Perth has completed a new public space on the corner of Lake and James Street – The Northbridge Piazza. It is to be a major commercial, cultural and creative hub acting as a destination for families and passers by as well as a venue for large scale cultural events.
The Piazza is framed by the new multi-purpose Community Building, a versatile stage, an outdoor LED screen and an illuminated 8 metre high feature 'Green Wall'. The space has been flexibly designed to encourage community use for performances, exhibitions, festivals, sporting events and other cultural activities. Perth’s first permanent LED screen is a major attraction, operating 24 hours a day and showcasing a variety of features such as films, creative presentations, sport and music.
School Holiday Activities - City Playground Pass
The City of Perth has developed a City Playground Pass for school holidays in the city. Every April, July, September holiday period, the City Playground Pass offers free events, attractions, food discounts and entertainment ideas for children and their families.
Fashion in the City
The latest fashion comes to the streets and foyers of Perth for Fashion in the City. New seasons fashions are displayed in a series of themed parades in surprising city locations.
City Wide Sale
The city goes on sale every June and December, with fantastic end-of-season discounts throughout city stores.
Red Bull Air Race and Festival
In its third year, the Red Bull Air Race World Series concludes in Perth over the Swan River for the second time with the city skyline as the race backdrop. The event will run over two days with qualifying taking place on Saturday 3 November and Race Day on Sunday 4 November, 2007.
AWESOME Festival
The AWESOME Festival, Perth's international arts festival for young people, is an annual event providing young West Australians with access to the world's best contemporary arts experiences.

Christmas in the City
The city is the place to be for the festive period, commencing with the spectacular "Turning on the Christmas Lights" event in mid-November.
For six weeks the City of Perth is filled with colour and light, as roving elves, Christmas gift-wrappers, carollers and even special "Santa Trains" make this the fun place to do your Christmas shopping. The magical Christmas nativity in Forrest Place is a much anticipated annual event for families.
New Year's Eve in the City
The City of Perth presents two fabulous free events to see in the New Year. Northbridge is the site for serious partygoers, with street stages featuring contemporary music, DJs and performances drawing crowds of thousands.
