Swan Valley nature parks

Major parks of the Swan Valley and Darling Range region:-

John Forrest National Park

Located is 28 kilometres east of Perth via the Great Eastern Highway and takes approx. 30 minutes from Perth by car. John Forrest National Park, was established in 1898 as a reserve making it Western Australia's first National Park. The park has excellent recreational facilities including: barbecues, picnic areas, toilets, walk trails, horse trails and mountain bike trails.

Canning River Regional Park

Canning River Regional Park is located 9 kilometres south-east of Perth and takes approx 15 minutes drive by car. The Park extends for some 6 kilometres along the Canning River and includes five wetland areas that make up this beautiful riverine system. The park has cycleways, walkways,picnic areas and the historic Woodloes Homestead can also be found here. All year round, families can enjoy swimming, barbecues, canoeing, fishing and riding the Castledare Miniature Railway in the Park.
