Goomalling

Goomalling, the Place of Possums, is located 48kms inland from both Toodyay and Northam, and is the ‘hidden jewel’ of the Avon Region.

Upon entry to town the wheat domes present a striking landmark, while art exhibitions, country markets, literary and musical evenings are enjoyed at historic Slater Homestead, where the past is recreated in a stroll down memory lane. The School House Museum, a one teacher school and the Heritage Town Walk also take visitors back in time.

A short drive from town, nestled among the vines is a romantic rural retreat and day spa, while Oak Park, a scenic picnic and barbeque area set in a natural flora reserve, is a great place to visit from Spring to Autumn.

Accommodation is equal to the best in the region, ranging from a quality bed & breakfast to the Caravan Park featuring on-site units with en-suites and resident caretakers, to lodging at the local taverns, making Goomalling a place that beckons one to stop and stay.

For more information visit the information centre when you arrive into town or check out the Shire of Goomalling website.
