Journey just an hour south-east of Perth to the Peel region and you’ll find a coastal and country lifestyle with a unique blend of forests, quaint towns, wineries, rivers, beaches and adventure.
In the northern part of the Peel region, lie’s the Shire of Serpentine and Jarrahdale offering breathtaking scenery within the many forests, parks, rivers and other natural attractions. Resting on the banks of the tranquil Murray River is Pinjarra, one of the oldest established towns in Western Australia. Twenty-three kilometres further inland resides the evergreen forested township of Dwellingup, a popular camping destination and boasts many hiking trails including the Bibbulmin Track.
Boddington, located about an hour and a half easy drive from Perth via the Albany Highway is nestled between rolling hills of forests and farms on the banks of the picturesque Hotham River. This area is ideal for hiking, picnics, birdwatching and wildflowers in the spring time as around half of the Boddington Shire is in fact state forest.
The character township of Waroona, located on the South Western Highway, lies between forest, farmland, lakes and sea. The town encompasses cafes, colonial architecture, antique shops and art galleries. Waroona is also home to Yalgorup National Park, 12,000 hectares of lakes, wetlands, migrating birds, rare tuart trees and some of the first living creatures on earth – the captivating Thrombolite living fossils.
