Accommodation in Wandering
Wandering was named by Europeans in 1859 where their horses had wandered off to a spring known today as horse well. Early Europeans farmed sheep, cattle and grains. Today the land use has changed with farmers growing diverse crops such as grapes, cherries, olives, pomegranates and other fruit trees. Aquculture farming of trout, yabbies and marron can also be found.
The town of Wandering lies in a valley surrounded by rolling hills. In winter the valley is covered in mist. Wandering is noted for it’s cold winter nights and cool summer nights.
Some old buildings remain in around the town, they include the old Wandering Agricultural Hall, Original Shire office, and the Anglican Church of St Martins.
Wandering is also the gateway to Dryandra. The Dryandra woodlands allows visitors to view native animals in their natural habitat. Visitors can take a nocturnal guided tour. Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning 98819200.
