Throughout the City of Perth there are some excellent areas for walking, cycling and enjoying the city sights.

The Swan River, right on the city's doorstep offers some beautiful walk and cycle ways all along the river edge, around the bridges to South Perth and over the causeway to Burswood Park. You can even visit kangaroos on a walk in the city. Heirisson Island, located at the Eastern end of the city under the Causeway, is home to a colony of Western Grey kangaroos. The kangaroos are found in the southern enclosure of the island and are best sighted in the early morning or evening.

Kings Park only a short walk from the city is also excellent for walking and cycling and many of Perth's office workers can be seen enjoying the park for a healthy walk or jog during their lunch times.
