Message from the CEO
Hello,
Welcome to our June/July edition of Inside Tourism!
Over the past months the Experience Perth team has been busy undertaking a range of activities including the Australian Tourism Exchange where we had the opportunity of showcasing our destination to buyers from all around the globe.
We have also undertaken other marketing activities aimed at encouraging local consumers to get on out more and experience the fantastic tourism product available in Perth and surrounds. Our Winter Escapes campaign has received a very good response from consumers, as has our school holiday campaign which has already attracted significant hits to the website and interest from locals wanting to sign up for our consumer’s e-newsletter. The consumer e-newsletter is an excellent opportunity for you to promote your product at no cost and we encourage members to keep us regularly updated with news relating to new product/tours etc and/or specials which we can promote via the newsletter.
Our 08/09 Calendar of Marketing Activities has now been distributed and we encourage your participation. Working in partnership not only allows us to further promote the region, but also gains additional exposure for your business in cost effective ways - please contact us for more information on these opportunities.
Kind regards,
Noeleen Pearson

School Holidays Campaign
During these July school holidays Experience Perth is running an extensive campaign designed to get local families out and about experiencing all our wonderful region has to offer. Our consumer e-newsletter sent out earlier this week highlighted a list of family friendly accommodation, child friendly places to dine, activities, attractions and regional events. We have also recently developed a kid's activity booklet and are currently marketing a drawing competition which is designed to get children more actively involved and aware of their region. So, if you have children get them busy drawing and you could win a fantastic family escape! Thank you to all the businesses who have provided school holiday details and a big thank you to the competition prize givers.

There will be elections for three of our tourism precincts - Sunset Coast, Avon Valley and Fremantle/Rottnest Island - nomination forms will be going out to members in September. We would greatly appreciate your support of our AGM and encourage as many members as possible to attend - remember it's also a great opportunity to network with fellow industry colleagues and have a few drinks! Marketing Calendar
We recently emailed all Experience Perth members a copy of our 2008/09 marketing activities to assist you in preparing your budgets for this new financial year. Some of the main campaigns highlighted in the calendar were online and print advertising opportunities, participation in brochure distribution at trade and consumer shows and seasonal campaigns. If you did not receive a copy of the marketing plan you can download it here.
Holiday Planner 2009
Next month we will be emailing the prospectus for the 2009 Experience Perth Holiday Planner. This is a 76 page glossy brochure detailing all there is to do and see in Perth and surrounds, including adverting opportunities for tourism businesses and organisations. Over 100,000 copies of the planner are printed each year and distributed extensively throughout Australia and overseas at trade and consumer shows, through travel agents and industry retail outlets. So stay tuned and keep your eyes open for your copy of the prospectus and your chance to target a massive world wide audience.
Special in the Mind & Body Liftout
Experience Perth is currently working with The West Australian to facilitate a special in the Mind & Body lift out called 'Wellbeing Travel in Perth'. It will focus on the health benefits of getting away, featuring great retreats and experiences that people should try to rejuvenate and improve their zest for life. It will also highlight options that allow people to spend quality time with partners and children and help people de-stress and recharge their batteries. If your business fits into this type of experience please email Kym a short description and contact details.
MATTA Brochure Distribution
In early September we will be attending the consumer show MATTA in Kuala Lumpur. With the introduction of the low cost airline Asia Air X we believe this market is set to grow and we want the Perth region to be in the minds of consumers as it does. For a small cost we will be offering brochure distribution opportunities for our members - if you're looking for a way to get your product into the hands of Malaysians looking for a holiday experience then this could be perfect for you. To find out more about this email Kym.
