Moore River Region

Only one hour drive north of Perth, is the great Moore River Region with something for everyone's taste.

Take in the picturesque seaside towns of Seabird and Ledge Point, perfect for fishing or relaxing on pristine beaches. The Moore River meets the ocean in the unspoilt playground of Guilderton. Here you can swim, fish and kayak in the safety of the Moore River; take a walk or climb up to the lookout for panoramic views and some picture perfect postcard shots you can upload to the internet for family and friends to see.

Enjoy a historical wander around the town of Gingin. Stroll the Walkabout and V.C. Jim Gordon trails, before enjoying a relaxing picnic beside the charming Gingin Brook and historic water wheel. More history awaits you in Neergabby with WA's oldest bridge.

Treat yourself to a honey ice cream at West Coast Honey, while deciding which flavour honey is your favourite and visit the Jylland Vineyard and Riseborough Estate Winery, who offer wine tastings Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

It's a mecca for sport enthusiasts - apart from the water and beach activities, you'll find golf clubs, bowling greens and tennis courts for public hire, as well as mini golf and horse riding.

Looking for something a bit more adventurous? Head to Lancelin, home of the internationally renowned Lancelin Ocean Classic. Here you'll find sand boarding, dune buggies, surfing, snorkeling, jet skiing and ocean fishing. De-mystify science at the Gravity Discovery Centre.
